SHE/HER/HERS

Christine Boyd is a Registered Social Worker
and a member of the Couples Reconnect team
of relationship-focused therapists in Calgary.

Christine is a Registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in social work, both from the University of British Columbia.

In addition to her ample counselling, public speaking, group facilitation, leadership, and skilled trainer expertise, Christine brings to our private practice counselling team over 17 years of professional experience honed in the non-profit and public sectors. She has walked beside a myriad of clients from all walks of life, from children and youth to parents, couples, and families, helping them through a depth and breadth of mental health, behaviour, addictions, parenting, relational, and conflict challenges.

Being the “best you can be” is really only possible when you are deeply connected to another. Splendid isolation is for planets, not people.

Her training competencies include an Externship in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) with the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), Sexual Abuse Intervention Level II, ARC (Attachment, Regulation, Competency), and PCIT (Parent Child Interactive Therapy) modalities, group facilitation for caregivers and staff, as well as children and youth. How Christine helps couples spark reconnection

Her vast experience in the foster care system has deepened Christine’s understanding of connection, grief, and loss, as well as her compassionate mastery in creating therapeutic interventions that support people in moving through these challenges. She cultivates relentless hope and resilience through her continued education and daily meditation practice.

Most importantly, Christine is a profoundly humble and gracious therapist who believes in relationships and couples’ boundless, under-realized potential to heal, attach, and deepen their self-awareness and connection to each other. Connection sparks tremendous possibilities to change and grow in love and Christine can help you get there.

Couples Reconnect, a branch of Calgary Reconnect Counselling Group, acknowledges that we are gathered on Treaty 7 territory, the original home of the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kanai First Nations; the Stoney Nakoda, comprised of the Chiniki, Wesley, and Bearspaw First Nations; and the Tsuut’ina First Nation.  This territory is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Located on this traditional territory, our mission is to spark reconnection and healing within couples, kids, parents, and families. We do this work with respect for these First Nations and in a spirit of humility, kindness, inclusion, and diversity.
