Money matters in relationships
Regularly discussing finances can be a huge deposit in your emotional bank account.
Here are some tips to spark easier, regular money conversations
- Schedule money talks. Make time to discuss your financial situation regularly, whether it’s budgeting, saving for a goal, or handling debt.
- Be honest. Financial infidelity, such as hiding purchases or debts, is one of the biggest emotional withdrawals in a relationship. Honesty is critical in maintaining trust.
- Support each other’s goals. Whether one partner wants to save for a home or the other has plans for education, supporting each other’s financial goals can strengthen emotional connection.
