SHE/HER

PRACTICUM STUDENT

Katherine Archbald practices at Couples Reconnect under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist,
as described under the Health Professions Act.

Katherine holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology from the University of Alberta (First Class Honours).

As a practicum student at Couples Reconnect, Katherine is excited to help Calgary couples grow in closeness and connection in their relationship. She also supports children, youth, and families as a practicum student at Kids Reconnect.

Katherine’s impressive experience includes serving as a Student Director for the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA), where she represents psychology students in the province on the Association’s Board of Directors. With a keen interest in self-esteem issues research, Katherine’s master’s thesis dives into weight stigma and health programming in schools, investigating factors that contribute to weight bias in physical education teachers.

Relationships are cornerstones of a fulfilled, meaningful, joyful life — but the journey to achieving healthy relationships is not always easy. Katherine is honoured to support your journey in building or rebuilding your relationship to its deepest potential.

“Nobody said it was easyNo one ever said it would be so hardI’m going back to the start.”

Couples Reconnect, a branch of Calgary Reconnect Counselling Group, acknowledges that we are gathered on Treaty 7 territory, the original home of the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprised of the Siksika, Piikani, and Kanai First Nations; the Stoney Nakoda, comprised of the Chiniki, Wesley, and Bearspaw First Nations; and the Tsuut’ina First Nation.  This territory is also home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3 within the historical Northwest Métis homeland. Located on this traditional territory, our mission is to spark reconnection and healing within couples, kids, parents, and families. We do this work with respect for these First Nations and in a spirit of humility, kindness, inclusion, and diversity.
